With a BA in political science, business and communications from the University of Arizona in 1988, Ron Applebaum earned his JD from the University of Detroit Law School in 1991. He was an attorney at Thurswell, Chayet & Weiner from 1991-2001 and at Weiner & Associates from 2001-2012. Ron and Erik formed Applebaum & Stone in 2013. Ron has been involved with JARC, a charitable organization that helps people with developmental disabilities, since the late 1980’s. As a young adult in the mid-1990’s, he began serving on the Board of Directors. Ron served as JARC Young Adult Chair, Secretary, Spring Elation Chair and Fall Fundraiser Chair. He was the president of JARC from June 2012-June 2014. Ron is involved with the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and is a past chair of the Grants and Distribution Committee and past associate chair of the College Student’s Group of the Jewish Identity and Education Division. He is a member of the American and Michigan Association for Justice as well as a mediator in both Wayne and Oakland Counties. Ron is married and has two daughters.
